Attic services

Clean, sealed, ventilated attics.

Most homeowners never go up there, so problems build quietly. Rodents leave droppings in the insulation. Bath fans vent into the attic instead of outside. Warm, moist air leaks up around light fixtures and the attic hatch, then condenses on cold roof sheathing through the Puget Sound's long wet season. Over time that shows up as musty smells, stained sheathing, higher heating bills and rooms that never feel quite right.

Our attic services fix the space itself. Attic cleaning and decontamination remove droppings, debris and soiled insulation. Air sealing closes the gaps between the living space and the attic. Attic fans, solar attic fans and radiant barriers help with heat and airflow. Attic ladders make the space safe to reach. Each service starts with a free inspection, and you see photos of what we find before you decide on anything.

FAQ

Attic services: common questions

Still unsure? Call (800) 674-4933 and talk it through with us.

How do I know if my attic needs cleaning?

Common signs are droppings near the hatch, a musty or ammonia smell on warm days, insulation that is trampled or matted, and debris left from past roof or cable work. If you have had rodents at any point, the attic usually needs cleaning even after they are gone. We photograph it during a free inspection.

Should I air seal before adding insulation?

Yes. Air sealing is easiest when the attic floor is clear, and it stops warm, moist air from leaking into the attic through gaps around fixtures, pipes and wiring. Insulation slows heat flow but does not stop air movement on its own, so sealing first gets more out of the new insulation.

Do I need an attic fan in the Seattle area?

Not every house does. Many attics work well with balanced soffit and roof vents. A fan helps in attics with poor natural airflow, summer heat buildup or moisture problems. We check your vents and airflow first and only recommend a fan if the attic actually needs one.
